Dezember, 1992

Born in 1992. Trained as a mechanic — someone who learned early on that things have to last. At some point, metal became wood, machines turned into carving tools, and bolts evolved into masks.

Today, hand-carved Krampus masks are created in his workshop — each carrying as much personality as their maker. Sebastian enjoys talking — about wood, tools, shapes, mistakes, traditions, and why a mask sometimes only comes together after letting it rest for a while. Patience, experience, and a strong feel for the material are just as much a part of his work as humor and a genuine passion for what he does.

The path from mechanic to wood artist was not a straight one — but that is precisely what defines his work: honest, distinctive, and marked by a clear personal signature.

In this video, I take you on a tour of my workshop. You’ll get an inside look at the workspace, the tools, and the environment where the masks are created.
